Tamala Pearley is a human resources professional whose work is rooted in a deep commitment to social justice, mentorship, and equitable opportunity. With more than a decade of experience in human resources, Tamala Pearley has supported employees and leaders through complex workplace challenges while helping to build inclusive and effective organizations. She brings a people-centered approach to personnel administration, believing that leadership is not just about strategy and policy, but also creating cultures where people feel valued and supported.
Tamala Pearley is currently completing a degree in social sciences at the University of Washington (graduates in June 2026). She is also working toward her SHRM-CP from the same institution (graduates in May 2026). Afterward, she will pursue a masters in communication leadership.
Besides being a student at the University of Washington, Tamala Pearley serves as a peer leader offering people and culture support at the institution. Her work involves collaborating with student groups and campus partners to provide guidance on workplace expectations and conflict resolution practices. She further monitors engagement indicators and climate trends to spot patterns in peer experience and academic progress and addresses sensitive concerns ensuring safety and fairness.
Previously, Tamala Pearley was a human resources business partner with Marathon Petroleum Corporation. She oversaw personnel administration, ensured compliance with employee relations laws, and trained employees. Ms. Pearley also managed workforce planning and staffing forecasts, leading to a 10-day reduction in average time-to-fill, and strengthened the organization’s culture leading to a 15 percent reduction in staff turnover.
